A recently launched special mobile Application has tremendously changed the ‘Chama’ operations countrywide, thanks to a technology company Cellulant.
The Coast region has a chance to change its old ‘Chama’ operation style after the company launched an awareness campaign about the App named ‘Tingg’.
During the first awareness session held at the Mombasa technology and arts centre Swahilipot-Hub, Cellulant Head of product development Kenn Lisudza said ‘Tingg’ App is a game changer in Chama operations.
Tingg ‘Chamas’ future
Addressing members of various merry go round and chama groups which have developed to real investments groups Mr. Lisudza acknowledged that despite the fact that most Chama groups have saved a lot of money, they do not know or understand ways of growing and investing in their hard-earned money.
He said ‘Tingg’ mobile App enables ‘Chama’ members to know when to contribute, what to contribute, who has arrears, who authorises money out and at what time.
“Tingg App is everything a ‘Chama’ with long term goals needs, the App also show members the available investment opportunities, noted Mr. Lisudza.
He said the awareness campaign will be conducted at the Coastal grassroots level to enable various ‘Chama’ groups change their old ways of operating such important business entities.
Tingg to transform investments
“Cellulant through ‘Tingg’ App wants to uplift the Coastal style of operating ‘Chama’ investments, we want all long term objectives of these ‘Chamas’ attained, ” he noted.
Lisudza said the platform also offers easy ways of paying for goods and services and the company is working towards enabling ‘Chamas’ with long term goals to conduct their meetings, contributions and discussions through the platform.
“With bankers and financial advisors on this platform, ‘Chama’ groups who will operate through Tingg App will never be disappointed,” he added.
Members present during the forum were receptive of the new technology that will ease their ‘Chama’ operations through to the grassroots level.
