16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10th December, Human Rights Day.
This year’s theme is: ORANGE THE WORLD #HearMeToo – END GENDER BASED VIOLENCE IN THE WORLD OF WORK.
The goal for 2018 is to continue to target the institutions in which SGBV is perpetuated and push for systematic change and accountability. For far too long, impunity, silence and stigma have allowed violence against women to escalate to pandemic proportions – One in three women worldwide experience gender-based violence.
The time for change is here and now.
