Muslims for Human Rights (MUHURI) is questioning the death of a minor inside Bamba police station in Kilifi County.
The human rights lobby has poked serious emerging issues that disapproves Bamba police officer’s conclusion that the minor Margaret Masha, 17 committed suicide inside the cells.
MUHURI Rapid response Officer Francis Auma suspects police hand in the death of the 6 months pregnant girl.
“Police chased away the mother, Joyce Masha only to inform her the next morning that her daughter was dead under police detention.
He said the series of occurrences happened so quickly and the body was later dumped at the Kilifi Sub-county morgue.
“Together with the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) and Independent Medical Legal Unity (IMLU) we are following this matter to the bitter end,” revealed Mr. Auma.

He said the body of Margaret showed some shocking signs and most likely she was brutalised by the police officers in charge before scheming a ‘suicidal’ case inside the cells.
“Blood was oozing from her private parts why?” he charged.
Meanwhile, locals at Bamba staged a demonstration on Thursday demanding immediate transfer of all police officer operating at the station.
They said Bamba police station has been used to terrorise locals with police officers demanding bribes from locals instead of serving the community in the right way.
A postmortem was conducted on Thursday with the results expected on Friday.
