Government pathologists Dr. Johansen Oduor and his counterpart Dr. Peter Ndegwa have confirmed that Caroline Mwatha’s death was caused by excessive bleeding.
Further the two revealed that Ms. Mwatha experienced excessive bleeding both internal and externally that led to her death.
Dr.Peter further revealed that Mwatha procured abortion but he never disclosed who pushed for the said abortion.
“Someone somewhere tried to dismember the six months male foetus Caroline was carrying,”said Dr. Ndegwa.
However human rights defenders are calling for a conclusive probe over the incident.
Haki Africa Executive director Hussein Khalid said since there are unanswered questions over what led to the abortion detectives should pursue the matter conclusively.
“Neither the pathologists or the police could not immediately tell what transpired leading to the abortion, we call for a proper investigations over the whole scenario,” he said.
He said human rights defenders were living in fear and called for protection since the work undertaken by the activists was enormous and geared towards protection of human rights,” he added.
he noted that Haki Africa will unite with other organisations in fighting for human rights in the country and beyond.
