A youth was on Tuesday afternoon killed by Police officers at Barsheba area in Mombasa.
The motive of the killing was yet to be established and police are yet to issue any official statement over the killings.
Haki Africa Rapid response Officer Mathias Hezron Shipetta said that Haki Africa was in close communication with the Independent Police oversight authority so that an independent investigation is launched on the incident.
Shipetta said that the recent meeting between Interior Cabinet secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i and Coast civil society did not yield fruits as extrajudicial killing has resurfaced.
“We thought the meeting cemented most of the security and human rights concerns raised but to our disappointment police inhuman acts have reemerged,” said Shipetta.
He said that Haki Africa is closely following up on the killing to unleash the motive behind it.
“Police should stop these killings, if a suspect is not armed the best approach is to arrest and charge them before court,” he noted.
Police have remained mum over the killing of Shee Hassan Adoli, 25 on Tuesday afternoon.
Mombasa County police Commandant Johnston Ipara though he confirmed the killings, he did not reveal details or motive behind the execution.
