A Mombasa based young artist is yearning to meet Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir.
The 22 year talented boy Collins Idah is looking forward to meet his role model and award him his portrait.
According to the drawing artist, Mr. Nassir has been his role model since he was a young boy and throughout his high school student at Tononoka boys secondary school in Mombasa back in 2015.
“I started practicing drawing and making portraits of different people and objects and I am sharpening my skills day by day,” said the talented young man.
He said he likes Nassir following his exemplary development record in the constituency.
“I want to personally hand him his portrait and take a photo with him, I will be satisfied that way,” said Mr. Idah

Mr. Idah practices his art at the technology and art centre Swahilipot Hub under the mentorship of its Patron Mr. Mahmoud Noor.
Noor is a renowned youth mentor who has been close to the youth to nurture their talents and transform their lives.
The young artist has a dream of making portraits of big personality and in the line is Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho.
Idah wants to draw a portrait of Joho and hand it over to him in person.
He hopes one day his hands will earn him a living and he will have joined the circle of other big artists who have portrayed exemplary artistic work in the country.

Meanwhile a representative of the Mvita constituency office Mohammed Hussein famously known as Amadoh has commended the young artist for exploring his talent and striving towards earning from it.
“Such youth needs support so that they prosper in their artistic work,” he said.
Hussein promised to facilitate a meeting between Mr. Idah and Mr. Nassir so that the two cements their friendship and for the MP to also have a chance to mentor the young boy.
“We are looking forward to a meeting between the two friends so that the young boy fulfils his artistic dream,” said Mr. Hussein.
