From the feedback from our readers who visit our News sight Jambo News Network every day, we engaged them on the most youthful activists in Mombasa.
There are some of the most influential youth who have dedicated their time and mobilised resources to serve the community in a bold-hearted move.
These are youth who are positively impacting in the community in Mombasa County.

He is currently the Kenya Red Cross Society Mombasa County branch Board member.
He is also the Coordinator OrphanAid Kenya, a non-governmental organisation that helps orphans within the society.
Rafik has served the KRCS for years and has become an iconic volunteer who loves humanity.
He has initiated various programs among them assisting poor female students with sanitary towels, he gathers resources to help orphanages in Mombasa and he is currently constructing a shade at the ‘Nyumba ya Wazee’ in Tudor.
Hon. Charles Kitula

He is the current Member of Mombasa County Assembly representing Freer town Ward.
Kitula launched a community based organisation ‘Sauti yetu’ with an aim of reaching the community at grass roots level believing that he can serve the community under whatever capacity and circumstances.
He has implemented various programs within his ward and focuses more on the youth and women in the area.
He is always with the youth in his Ward, meeting and discussing with them ways of improving their lives.

He is a vibrant youth activist and the current Executive Director Stretchers Youth Organisation.
He has been working towards taming early pregnancies among the youth in Mombasa County.
Okong’o has been creating awareness in all the six Sub-Counties of Jomvu, Changamwe, Mvita, Likoni, Nyali and Kisauni in Mombasa on ways to tame early pregnancies among the youth in Mombasa efforts that have brought him to the limelight.

He is famously known as Coach Ndere. Mr. Mohammed invested in sports to deter youth from abusing drugs. He is the Old town Sports for Development organisation Patron where he engages youth and children in soccer so that apart from nurturing their talents he also dissuades them from abusing drugs or indulging in criminal activities.
This formula has positively impacted the youth and children in Old town where has tremendously improved.

She is a selfless youth activist who focuses more on the girl child. She has distributed sanitary towels, and learning materials to less fortunate children in schools within Mombasa and beyond.
Ms. Farida is pained by incidences of children being sexually abused and she has been instrumental in creating awareness to the community on how to protect their children.
She wants a just society that embraces unity, hardworking, drug free and where gender equality is highly valued.

Mr. Omar is the current Chairperson Kadzandani creative. This organisation unites talented youth who use their creativity in earning a living. Chai engages youth in various forums where they practice their talents and use them constructively so that they reap from them.
Chai, a vibrant youth activist has to some extent deterred youth from indulging in drug use or recruited in criminal outfits.
He has played the role of bridging the gap between the youth and relevant county departments by empowering the youth with relevant information at grassroots level.
Alfred Ogweno Otieno

Otieno is a youth leader who wants to see many youth sailing into power. He has been preaching the political gospel to his peers so that they get into the political scene and battle it out with the ‘experienced’ in the political field.
Ogweno would always say ‘We are not leaders of tomorrow but today’ whenever he addresses a publi forum.
Otieno believed in empowering the youth so that they can become self reliance.
Hassan Omar Abdallah

He works as a Paralegal officer at an anti-drug lobby Reachout Centre Trust and mainly focusing on helping people who use drugs out of the menace.
He also coordinates activities at the Mvita Community Development Organisation (MV- CODE) a community based organisation operating within Mvita constituency.
Abdallah developed interest in the anti- drug campaign after most of his friends were affected by the menace and some lost their lives.
He is always meeting youth in Majengo and other parts of the constituency educating them on the effects of drugs, HIV/AIDS and crime.

Mohammed Hussein is well known as ‘Amadoh’ and he is the current Personal assistant to Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir.
‘Amadoh’ is also the Mombasa County Chair FOKAS Organisation Mombasa Chapter a recently launched organisation that aims at empowering the youth and the community at large.
He has engaged the youth within Mvita constituency on how best they can sustain their lives, how they can access various government funds so that they initiate income projects.
Usamma Ali Hassan

He is the youngest community activist within Mombasa and he is the current Executive Director at Raise Official Kenya a non-governmental organisation at the Coast region.
This organisation works with the youth to ensure they embrace education, self employment and build their characters in life.
Usamma is a young achiever and in 2019 he conducted a campaign of collecting sanitary pads from well wishers so that he can keep girls in school.
He is dedicated to community and believes that the boy and girl child should be accorded equal opportunity especially in matters education.
