The Government has suspended all public gatherings countrywide after a confirmed Coronavirus case.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said all inter-school events and conferences have been as well halted with immediate effect.
The female patient, who has since been quarantined, tested positive on Thursday and had traveled to the United States through the United Kingdom. She arrived in the country on March 5.
Kagwe who doubles up as Chairperson of the National Emergency Response Committee on Coronavirus however stated that school programmes will proceed as planned.
He also announced the suspension of prison visits for the next one month.
He said normal church services will continue but urged churches to provide hand sanitizers.
The Health CS however announced the suspension of church crusades countrywide.
“Public transport service providers have been ordered to provide sanitisers as well,” noted Mr. Kagwe.
Kenya’s single case adds up to the 134, 918 world wide cases of the COVID-19 disease.
4,990 have so far dies from the dangerous Coronavirus outbreak.
