“Our community service is immense, we need to reach Kwale county residents so that patients don’t have to travel distances seeking specialized treatment,” added Mr. Kassim.

He said that the five day training which commenced on 12th of September will equip the 28 Kwale county nurses with relevant skills of handling patients especially those who will need specialized cervical cancer examination, operation, treatment and aftercare, following the Cryotherapy donated machine.

On his part, Kwale county Nursing officer Edward Mumbo expressed his gratitude towards Base titanium for offering a helping hand to the Kwale county health department.

He said that such partnership was noble and would to a greater extent assist the county to provide required, upgraded, universal and up to standard health services to locals.

“Base has given us all time support through its community service department, and its focus on health matters is totally impeccable,” noted Mr. Mumbo.

The Cryotherapy machine is used to perform cryosurgery which is a procedure that uses freezing gas (liquid nitrogen) to destroy precancerous cells on the cervix. When the unhealthy cells are destroyed, the body can replace them with new, healthy cells.
