Lamu County Senator Anuwar Loitiptip has assured Lamu residents that the ailing health sector will be overhauled.
Mr. Loitiptip admitted that Lamu dwellers are going through difficulties in accessing quality health services following laxity among a section of Lamu leaders.
Addressing locals in Lamu Island, Loitiptip promised locals that he has taken the health mantle to ensure the sector breathes fresh healthy life.
According to Loitiptip, the situation worsens in the eye of Lamu Governor Fahim Twaha arguing that the County Chief is doing less in containing the problem.
“It is as good as having no Governor in our county, how can the health department deteriorates to such state?” posed Mr. Loitiptip.
He vowed never to relent but take Lamu County Government head-on until the health sector is revived and locals get the required health care.
“This time round, we will make Lamu county government work for its people, health is very critical component in any community,” he reiterated.
Barely a week ago Senate health committee chaired by Trans Nzoia Senator Dr. Michael Mbito toured Lamu County to inspect the health sector.
The committee visited King Fahad and Mpeketoni public hospitals which have been at the centre of controversy and protests over pathetic medical services offered.
Locals led by the youthful Senator complained of lack of medicine and qualified personnel to provide the required health services.
