Humanitarian Organisation Kenya Red Cross Society Mombasa branch has appealed to locals to strictly adhere to all health protocols in a bid to avert further spread of Coronavirus.
The Organisation has urged locals not to relax as the impact of Coronavirus is being experienced in every corner of the county.
KRSC Mombasa branch Board Chairman Mahmoud Noor said though there is positive behavioral change among Mombasa dwellers though some have been ignoring relevant information to enable them evade the deadly virus.
Speaking at Bangladesh, in Jomvu constituency, Mr. Noor cautioned locals to be extremely careful since the disease has resulted to death among locals.
“No one should doubt the disease, we should not be reminded about the virus being a reality and we should not wait until the situation worsen,” said the social worker.
According to Mr. Noor locals should not ignore information related to Covid-19.
He appealed to them to be vigilant and abide by all the health guidelines provided by the Ministry of health.
“When you are told to maintain physical distance, wash your hands regularly and wear a face mask you are only protecting yourself from contracting the virus,” said Noor.
He said recently Muslim clerics reported that they may soon be forced to look for other burial places in neighbouring counties of Kwale and Kilifi since the cemeteries in Mombasa are almost filled.
Noor appealed for unison among the community and other players in the health and humanitarian sector so that the worrying situation is contained.
“The responsibility remains upon the community to fully adhere to all health and safety guidelines so that they avert the virus,” he reiterated.
