Mombasa County is becoming the red zone after it recorded 67 Covid-19 positive cases.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe while briefing the media on Wednesday he also confirmed 7 more cases rising the total number of people affected by the disease to 303.
Kagwe said the country has so far recorded 14 deaths.
“Having tested 707 samples we confirmed 7 positive cases in the last 24 hours,” revealed Mr. Kagwe.
However, Mombasa may be the new government headache.
He said the government is working towards improving on sample testing.
“We are targeting at least a quarter million people by end of June,” noted Mr. Kagwe.
The government has already deployed a total of 25, 000 kits to enhance mass testing.
He has however warned those fleeing quarantine facilities that they will face dire consequences.
The government has also partially locked down Mandera county over increasing cases of Covid-19 cases.
