The government has confirmed 5 more Coronavirus patients raising the number of those affected by the disease to 184.
This is after an analysis of more samples where 5 tested positive.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe confirmed three of the patients are from Nairobi and 2 more from Mombasa.
The 6th patient who died was from Mombasa summing the number of Covid-19 deaths to 7.
However, Kagwe said the patient who died at a Mombasa hospital was not immediately confirmed to be Covid-19 positive until a postmortem was conducted on his body.
“We are now tracing on the contacts of that particular person,” noted Mr. Kagwe.
Kagwe has also ordered Kenyans to minimize their movements and remain indoors so that they do not contract the disease.
He cautioned Kenyans against ignoring the health and safety measures provided by the government warning that severe punishment will befall them.
“One will wonder how reckless Kenyans will board an ambulance so that they are not arrested just to attend a house party,” he noted.
Meanwhile, the government is in talks with Japan government which is the process of developing a drug that will be tested on Covid-19 patients.
The drug that Japan government is giving out for free to Africa countries may be a successful cure for the deadly disease.
