Donors of the Africa Milele Onlus children’s home which was attacked last night at Chakama area in Kilifi County wants their Foreign minister to intervene in tracking Silvia Romanno.

Ms Romanno, 23 was abducted in Tuesday night attack where 5 people including a 10 year old boy were shot by gunmen at Chakama area in Makongeni about 80 kilometers west of Malindi town.

Led by Andrea Caschetto, they urged Enzo Moaverro Milanesi, the Minister Foreign affairs and International Corporation to swing into action and secure Silvia.

In a statement from Italy after Silvia’s abduction, Andrea said that the boldhearted volunteer student has been gathering relief from well wishers so that she can sustain the poor children.

Andrea said that the country has been thrown into pain and will only calm down when Silvia is rescued, safe and sound.

“We suspect Al-Shabab militia men and other local Somali nationals planned and executed the attack, let the Kenyan police unearth the motive,” he noted.

Andrea also sent an appeal to Italian ambassador to Kenya Mauro Massoni to work closely with the Inspector General of police Joseph Boinett so that they arrest the gunmen and ensure the children’s home is secured.

“We commend Kenya police for their efforts since the unfortunate incident occurred, however we need more action so that Silvia is rescued unhurt,” read part of the statement.

He also wished the five young men including two minors and a woman quick recovery after they sustained serious gunshot injuries.

Speaking on Wednesday evening, Coast regional Coordinator Bernard Leparmarai admitted that they are yet to get any clues of the gunmen of about 15 and the motive of the attack remained unknown.

He however said that police are in pursuit of the gunmen.
