Rwandan woman may serve up to two years in prison for ‘indecent public dressing’.

Liliane Mugabekazi, an artist and a renowned video vixen was arrested by Rwandan police authorities after what was termed as ‘shameful clothing’ in public.

In a photo of the 24 year old young woman, a player in the Rwanda’s entertainment industry, she wore a black dress that was well revealing her private parts.

The dress revealed her breasts and black underwear while attending the music concert of a famous French musician Tayc eight days earlier.

Rwanda’s prosecution spokesperson Faustin Nkusi said they want to detain Lilliane for 30 days as they argue their case in court.

“That is indecency and shameful dressing we will not allow in our country,” said Mr Nkusi.

His sentiments were backed by former Rwandan Justice Minister Johnston Busingye who backed the arrest.

“The current issue of young men and women who drink and drug themselves unconscious and appear in public literally naked is objectionable,” he said in a tweet.

The Rwandan Ambassador to Britain fully backed the arrest and prosecution of Ms Lilliane.

Rwanda’s police Spokesperson John Bosco Kabera rebuked immorality and indecency among young people.

Lilliane’s arrest last Thursday led to an outrage among Rwandan activists, the youth and the entertainment industry players in the country.

Many termed it as colonial and violation of human rights while players in the entertainment industry demanded for unconditionally release of Lilliane.

Lilliane, will know if she will be freed on bail on Tuesday, August, 23, as police vow to ensure she is jailed for atleast two years.

Police insist revealing private parts in public is a serious crime in Rwanda.
