Former UN- Secretary-general Koffi Annan died on Saturday in Switzerland.
According to his family the 80 year old World peace icon died after a short illness.
Annan was the UN- Secretary general between 1997 to 2006. He will also be remembered after he brokered a deal between Raila Odinga and former President Mwai Kibaki in February 2008 after bloody post election violence in Kenya’s 2007 general election where over 1,000 people died and many others were left homeless.
Annan also won the Nobel peace prize for his vast humanitarian work across Africa and beyond.
