Former KBC Presenter Bonnie Musambi launches own radio station

Hours after ditching Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) owned Radio Taifa, renowned multi-talented radio personality Bonnie Musambi has launched his own radio station Sang’u FM.

Musambi called home, KBC for the last 14 years where he hosted the ‘Zinga la asubuhi’ breakfast show and also anchored channel one Swahili bulletin.

Musambi a well-articulated radio presenter announced that he is hanging the boots and setting foot in politics.

In his last show on Tuesday, Musambi thanked his employer and the unconditional love from his vast fans countrywide.

“Words cannot express my gratitude to God for granting me an opportunity to leave a mark in this great Corporation. For the last 14 years, I have called KBC home but now I have left to serve my real home Kitui, as the next Kitui Central MP, if they give me the opportunity,” he posted on his social media handles.

He went ahead “Thank you my friends and fans for your unwavering support and love. I will never let you down. Kwaherini!”

But hours later, Musambi launched his own radio station Sang’u FM

“I now take this opportunity to invite you all to Sang’u FM, Vaa nivo Kwaku. (This is where you belong).

The station is well received in Ukambani areas on 93.4FM Kitui and Machakos & 96.2FM Makueni.

The news, talk and entertainment station broadcast in both Kamba and Swahili languages.

Some of the programs in the line-up are Sang’u Yoh Yoh, a youthful show, Reggae Ark and Rhumba Malamu among other cross-cutting shows.

Musambi also revealed he will be co-hosting the Rhumba Malamu show, because of his undying love for Rhumba music.
