Her voice, my weakness- reveals youth activist
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A young Mombasa youth activist has experienced sleepless nights whenever he tuned in to Radio Kaya, a Kwale based radio station, listening to a voice of a radio queen Mimuh Mohammed.

He says the way Mimuh articulates her confident voice engaging her vast audience on air with the sweet voice he simply feels like hugging his radio set.

Usama Ali Hassan has been an energetic, tireless youth activist in Mombasa where he had based his activities in Kisauni Sub-county, highlighting the plight of youth and at the same time engaging his colleagues in environmental awareness programs.

He evidently revealed his emotional feelings towards the radio queen who has been anchoring prime news bulletin at Radio Kaya and at the same time being the Associate editor at the station.

Mimuh who had once worked for Coast based states owned station Pwani FM and later moved to Sheki FM before it changed to a full gospel station owned by the Seventh Day Adventist. She later made her way out and safely landed at Radio Kaya the most listened radio station at the Coastal region.

The tough on air and confident in the field has been reporting gender based violence , health and social news stories and she currently holds the business news desk at the well performing radio station, Radio Kaya.

Mimuh is also the outstandingTaarabmusic program Presenter‘Mirindimo yaKimwambao’that airs in the afternoon, where she gives advice to the middle aged and mostly women who love the program.

“I love the Radio queen, she brings news with a confident voice, she present business news in the‘Pakacha la biashara’segment just to let her audience venture into business projects, but when she switch the on air microphone to present theTaarabprogram with modern Swahili rhythms, she simply turns me on,” revealed the young activists.

He carries on, “I was once hosted at Radio Kaya studios to discuss about matters relating to youth and extremism and the first moment I saw her sitting at the news desk, my heart was racing, first I could not establish the reason as to why I felt so, maybe she carries my left rib as the history of how Eve was created from Adam in the Bible,” he reveals amid smiles and laughter.

However, the hardworking Mimuh Mohammed who admits to be single is yet to respond to the feelings of the young activist, who is tirelessly planning to meet Mimuh any time soon.
