Renowned Music producer Shirko has revealed that he has a basket of goodies to Coast artists.

Shirko says he is planning for a ‘Coast music awards’ a brand that died few years ago after misunderstanding and confusion among players in the entertainment industry.

Revealing his ‘To do list’ at the ‘Shirko Media’ production studios in Ganjoni, Mombasa on Tuesday, Shirko said that the Coast music sector will go far and beyond if he is given the necessary and most needed support by artists within the region.

He said that the ‘Coast music awards’ will be a brand to encourage young talented youth to come out and nurture their music talents, a thing that according to Shirko will give the region its niche.

The humble Shirko said that if ‘Coast music awards’ brand is revived artists will venture into serious music composition and production not because they want to win awards but because they have something to compete for.

“No doubt we have the best vast talents at the Coast and countrywide, but how do we support and nurture them?” he posed.

Jobius Africa

Shirko said that comparing Kenya with other African countries, Kenya has wasted a lot of its opportunities through sidelining talents and he now want to revamp the situation so as to instill hope among youth.

“For the few days I have been listening to various radio stations broadcasting within the Coast region, we got great talents and we must nurture and support them so that they reach international levels,” he noted.

He said that plans are underway to deliberate on the modalities of how the first ‘Coast music awards’ will be conducted so that it is developed and expanded to become a big unique annually event.

He appealed to the Coast Governors to venture more into supporting youth with captivating talents so that such talents do not go into waste but used as source of livelihood for the Coastal youth.

He said that Shirko Media was open to all kind of artists in the Coast region and was ready to work with them so as together their dreams and goals in music life are achieved.
