A top radio presenter has dumped his journalism career and ventured into business project.

Suleiman Mwajenjewa famously known as ‘Doctor KeysherB’ worked at a Coast based Islamic radio station, Radio Salaam for two years before jumping the wagon to the leading Mijikenda radio station, Radio Kaya.

At Radio Salaam Mwajenjewa worked in the newsroom gathering and packaging news and features as well as presenting both hard and sports news.

At Radio Kaya, he hosted the ‘Misakato ya Bango’ entertainment show, a late night daily entertainment program.

He also coordinated the social media handles for the station.

However, the talented Radio presenter quit the Independent Mijikenda station to concentrate on his business project.

Unpromising career

“I think the media industry is slowly diminishing that’s why I decided to drop the career and concentrate on my personal issues,” he said.

The radio personality is now managing his clothes business ‘The Key Son Wears’ along Digo Road within Mombasa CBD.

“However, Authorities mandated to streamline the industry should strategise on professionalism and specifically payment for journalists or else journalists will remain volunteers for years, taking home completely nothing,” he said.
