The social media on Sunday was full of bashing and gnashing of the Communication Authority of Kenyan (CAK) and the East African Breweries Limited following the sacking of HOMEBOYZ Radio morning crew.
Shaffie Weru, Joseph Munoru also known as DJ Joe Mfalme and Neville Muysa were fired by their employer Radio Group Africa for discussing issues deemed detrimental to gender parity.
However, Kenyans on social media have called for reinstatement of the crew saying the punishment was too harsh.
They want Radio Group Africa reinstate them.
“How can you fire the trio yet you agree on training staff on gender issues, how you will train people you already sacked?” posted another concerned HBR fan.
CAK also slammed the station with a 1 million shillings fine.
Renowned activist Jackson Kibor termed the move as drastic calling for re-employment of Shaffie and the entire ‘TheLiftOff’ breakfast crew.
The debate has taken a different twist after a hash tag demanding a boycott of all EABL products #BoycotEABL also started trending on social media.

Kenyans and HRB fans gnashed EABL CEO Jane Karuku and CAK acting Director General Mercy Wanjau for causing the conflict at Radio Group Africa.
