Radio Lamu is the new kid on the block in Lamu county after Sifa FM set its foot in the county almost a decade ago.
The realization of the first Community radio station in Lamu has been propagated by youth activists under the Lamu Youth Alliance Organisation.
Launched recently, the community radio station is focusing on community issues, human and land rights, gender, children rights and a vast of social issues.
The fastest radio station has attracted a considerate number of audience giving its competitor Sifa FM a run for its money.
Sifa FM is a pure gospel station.
The station is aimed at equipping the community with knowledge on their land rights, giving them platform to raise their concerns and as well giving the community direct information from expertise hosted in various cross-cutting shows.
The stations bases on talk, news and entertainment.

According to Lamu Youth Alliance, they are still working on a strategy to reach the entire Lamu islands since Lamu residents are yearning to listen to what directly concerns them.
