Multi- talented BBC Correspondent for North America Larry Madowo has dropped the giant British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for Cable News Network (CNN).
Madowo with an ever bright journalism career expressed his joy to be back home as he will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Madowo said he has worked in various spectrum and boasts vast experience in his plumbing journalism career.
The renowned world journalist, started his career at the Kenya Television Network (KTN) aged 20 where he later managed the business news desk at the station.
He later joined the CNBC Africa where he covered Africa related stories mostly Ethiopia.
Mr. Madowo, 33 later joined NTV where together with Ms Victoria Rubadiri anchored the NTV Tonight prime news bulletin.
The two top news anchors later parted ways with Madowo joining (BBC) as senior correspondent for Northern America a post he took after Managing the BBC news desk as BBC Africa Business Editor in the Nairobi based bureau, while Ms Rubadiri joined Royal Media Service owned channel Citizen TV.
In a press release, signed by Deborah Rayner, senior Vice President of International Newsgathering and Managing Editor, Europe, Middle East and Africa for CNN International, Washington DC, Madowo has been appointed to take over the CNN correspondence job at Capital city Nairobi, Kenya.
CNN has been reporting on Kenya and East Africa related stories from Johannesburg, South Africa.
“I’ve enjoyed reporting from the US and around the world, but it’s a real privilege to return to covering Africa at such a critical time in Kenya and around the continent, he said.
