Mediamax Network Limited will lay off its workers second time in a year.

The move according to the Group’s Chief Operations Officer Ken Ngaruiya has been triggered by the current situation where company revenue has reduced.

In a circular to all its various outlets signed by Mr. Ngaruiya, the company has been forced to streamline its various departments in a bid to reduce on expenditure.

Jobius Africa

“In line with its human resource policies, the company will give employees declared redundant a one month notice or alternatively pay one month salary in lieu,” stated Ngaruiya.

Recently Ngaruiya reduced salaries of all the staffs in the company triggering mass exodus of top editors of the organization.

Mediamax Network Limited owns various media brands among them K24 TV, Kameme TV, Kameme FM, Milele FM, Msenangu FM, The People Daily newspaper among others.

It is associated with the first family.

Labour action

Mediamax Network Limited owned K24 has re-branded for at least 5 times now in a bid to remain afloat.

Staffs have blamed Ngaruiya citing poor management.

They have so far filed a case at the labour court opposing a slash of their salaries.

However in defense, Ngaruiya said the company has been facing economic challenges following cut down on advertising budgets from the company’s clientele.

“For those who will be affected by the move, they will be notified, paid their salaries guided for smooth transition,” he said in the circular.
