With the perennial traffic snarl-up, indeed Mombasa needs such an invention.
A camel ride that apart from giving you the fascinating Mombasa Island view, you will enjoy the ‘no hurry ride’ from whenever and wherever you want to go.
The camel ride mostly from Likoni will take you to your destination.
The camel ride is also fused with a donkey ride, the choice is yours!
The rider Alfan Mohammed says the ride offered by the desert animal will not disappoint you as you are the controller.
“All the camel rides depend on one’s pocket. The distances range from 50 shillings to 300 shillings,” said Alfan.
The services were only offered in recreational areas among them Shelly beach Likoni, Mama Ngina water front, Kibarani park and Jomo Kenyatta public beach famously known as Pirates in Bamburi, Mombasa.
“However, after the festive season we have opted to use other avenues to earn a living,” he revealed.
Alfan charges 100 shillings from Likoni through Nyerere Avenue to Fontanella round about within Mombasa CBD.
