There was drama at the Kibera law courts on Thursday after musician Alex Apoko, famously known as Ringtone, arrived in court in an ambulance with medics behind him.
He attended the plea taking of blogger Robert Alai, whom he accused of assaulting him last Friday.
However, Ringtone was reduced to tears after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions recalled the file for further perusal.
He called on the DPP and Inspector General of Police to act swiftly, saying he was unwell and needed further medication in South Africa.
Ringtone, and Alai were involved in an altercation which turned physical.
Alai was arrested and detained at Kilimani police station on allegations of beating Ringtone with a wooden club.
In a video circulated on social media, Ringtone was seen distributing money to pedestrians and boda boda riders before the incident that happened along University Way.
