Renowned artist Wahu has landed a new role as the Mortein Doom brand ambassador.
Wahu (Wahu Kagwi), real name, will head the newly launched national anti-malaria campaigns that will be spearheaded by Mortein Doom.
Wahu, a multi-award-winning artist who together with her celebrity husband Nameless (David Mathenge) have kept their marriage profile strictly private, becoming the most loved celebrity couple in the country is mandated to ensure the ‘Fight to end Malaria’ campaign reaches the grassroots level and positively impact the mission.
While accepting her new role, Wahu said “In our country’s health, women and mothers are the agents of change and the driving force that creates better lives for families, communities and the society at large. I am glad to work with Mortein as it continues to pave way to a malaria-free Kenya,”
Reckitt Kenya that owns Mortein Doom Country Manager Asif Hashimi said the link between Mortein Doom and Wahu will create awareness to the grassroots level about the threats posed by Malaria in Kenya and the renewed commitment towards phasing it out.
The country has an estimated 3.5 new clinical cases and 10,700 deaths each year according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
