Veteran Kenyan rapper Chris Kantai is dead.
According to reports confirmed by his family representative Wanjiku Thuku, said Kantai died on Wednesday morning at the St. Francis Hospital in Kasarani, where he was taken two days ago.
It is still unclear what was ailing him.
Chris Kantai, who has died aged 42, is survived by a wife, child and his mother.
The ‘Kantada’ hit maker is among the foremost Kenyan rappers, who scooped several trophies in the early 2000s’ Chaguo La Teeniez Awards.
His most recent work that broke airwaves ‘Ting Badi Malo’ a song he did with the self-proclaimed ‘OG’ better known by his stage name Khaligraph Jones called for more from his diehard fans back in 2016.
Khaligraph Jones took to social media to mourn him.
“Rest in peace Kris Kantai” posted Khaligraph Jones.
Chris Kantai is credited for introducing into the Hip hop market celebrated rapper Stella Mwangi alias STL.
