I was one of the Pilipili FM loyal fans since its inauguration in March 2012.
Remembering the dedicated voices of presenters like Christine Koroso, news presenters like Gentrics Oduor and a list of favourite presenters.
Gates Mgenge was my favourite too and I could not afford to miss ‘Mwakemwake live’ a youthful generation show that aired from 3 pm weekdays.
How I also wish Mama Madikodiko could revive ‘Komeo ya Pilipili’ a late night love show at Radio Kaya where she currently works.
Aisha Abushir famously known as ‘Mama Madikodiko wa ukweli’ discussed in depth love matters, sex, relationship, how to make a husband stick to his wife to death.

“No love portions from witch-doctors but this advice will work for your marriage,” I even recall what she said in her ‘Komeo ya Pilipili late night show. A top fan I was right?
Re-branding; A hit or a miss?
With such beautiful, entertaining programs, what really transpired or rather crossed MediaMax Limited to an extent of shutting down such a nice and very entertaining urban station to a local Mijikenda station Msenangu FM?
The move of poaching the whole lot from an independent Mijkenda radio station Radio Kaya in April, 2019 was a miss and never a hit.
This move was miss-calculated as Msenangu FM is yet to make a breakthrough eight months later.
Some of my favourite presenters were Mama Madikodiko currently at Radio Kaya, DJ Gates Mgenge who now hosts the 001 Music label, Sofia Saiduni, Kassim Mbui who has since joined Radio Simba, Nelly Mwikamba, Chigulu Ngala, Ibrahim Nyundo who has since joined KBC’s sister station Pwani FM among others who were declared redundant in April, 2019.

I remember this heartbreaking post on DJ Gates Mgenge back in April, 2019.
It’s has been real….. So thankful to the media max &Pilipili fm family my loyal fans who turned to be a big family and everyone who has been supporting Gates Mgenge as a brand. It’s time for another Journey will miss you guys
GLORY TO GOD
The top urban station was later re-branded to a Mijikenda station Msenangu FM an Idea of the former MediaMax Limited Head of Radio Joyce Gituro who since left the company that owns Msenangu FM, Milele FM, Kameme FM, Kameme TV, People Daily Newspaper, K24 TV among other brands.
Msenangu FM is currently spearheaded by former Radio Kaya presenters led by the Station Manager Teddy Nyae watinga, Mgeni Shaban famously known as Sister Shirneez, Fatuma Mwangala (Toto Bomba) Pyukapu wa Pyukupu (PPO) Maitha Masha, Josphine Medza, Bahati Ngazi (Mtoto rangi ya Pesa) among others.

The company recently conducted a mass layoff where big names among them Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Juma Bhalo were shown the door.
Ooh! I loved Pilipili FM and I wish it is fully revived.
