One person was burnt beyond recognition while two others sustained injuries after they were involved in a road accident along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
The tragic accident involved a trailer and a motorbike.
The driver of the track driver which was heading to Nairobi from Mombasa hit the Boda boda operator who died on the spot and later the lorry blew into flames burning the motorcycle operator beyond recognition.
The motorbike was also reduced to ashes.
The last night 11 pm accident occurred at Taru area in Kinango along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
Coast regional traffic Commandant Emmanuel Okanda confirmed the accident saying that the remains of Mohammed Mwajima Ndegwa, the Boda boda operator were taken to the Coast general hospital morgue.
He said investigations have been launched following the tragic road accident.
“However, these Boda boda operators have been operating in a reckless manner along the Mombasa Nairobi highway, most of them do not have valid documents,” he noted.
The driver of the trailer and his assistant suffered minor injuries.
