10 Likoni revelers secured a self sponsored self quarantine after they were arrested in a bar at Likoni Saturday night.
The 10 among them two bar attendant were arrested after locals informed police of the ongoing feast at the ‘Likoni Neighbours Pub’ at Likoni Flats area in Mombasa last night.
The ten were enjoying their hard drink before they were rounded up by police at the dead of the night.
Likoni police Boss Jane Munywoki warned locals against flouting curfew rules.
She said such people increase the spread of Coronavirus adding that police will not relent in implementing the curfew orders.
“These are the people we need to punish so that they do not spread the disease,” noted Ms Munywoki.
The ten 10 are currently detained at the Likoni police station waiting processing so that they begin their quarantine journey.
The arrest comes after Mombasa County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo talked tough of flouting government orders that all pubs countrywide remain shut.
He criticised locals for ignoring safety and health rules during Covid-19 pandemic.
Mombasa has featured well in the Coronavirus curve with over 80 confirmed cases and 4 deaths.
