4 Memon academy teachers die in grisly road accident

At least four Memon academy teachers in Mombasa died in a tragic road accident on Saturday.

Memon Education Board confirmed the death of the four teachers in the Saturday November, 19, 2022 evening road carnage in Taita Taveta along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

In a statement released by the Memon academy Education Board on Sunday, the four teachers Mr Jumaa Mwadalu, Jonathan Mungai, Robert Bwire and Francis Kivindo perished on the spot.

“They have left a void in our hearts and will be greatly missed,” ready part of the statement.

Other four teachers including the High school Principal Zeinab Mohamed, Mr William Wafula, Maurice Adede and Connie Kaidza are receiving urgent medical attention in various Mombasa hospitals including the Mombasa hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the accident.

“10 other members of the Memon Academy are receiving urgent medical attention at the Moi referral county hospital in Voi, Taita Taveta county.

The school administration has appealed to the Memon academy community among them Students, teachers and parents to pray for the departed souls and to God for the healing of the injured members.

The Memon Education Board will conduct counselling sessions to the students, teachers and parents so as to avert more serious psychological problems following the abrupt demise of their teachers.

The deaths may affect the KCSE candidates who are about to sit for their exams since they have been directly engaged with the deceased who took part in preparing them on a one-on-one engagements, a situation that has triggered the counselling sessions.

All the families and the next of kin of the deceased and the survivors of the tragic road accident have been informed of the accident and urged to take courage during the trying moments.
