Barely a day after the Kenyan renowned artist Esther Akoth famously known as Akothee launched a mission to help starving Turkana residents, her mission has been well received by her fans and Kenyans of goodwill.
Akothee who was recently gnashed by some top government officials for her alleged ‘nudity’ and ‘sexist’ performance shut their mouth as most of them have never uttered a single word or any initiative to salvage the situation.
The madam ‘Boss lady’ seems to be deeply touched by the pathetic situation in Turkana that the government has since denounced.
Akothee seems to be caring more than ever after seeing the malnourished photos of desperate Turkana residents where it is alleged that three people have so far succumbed to hunger.
As at Wednesday afternoon, Akothee’s M-Pesa bill had reached 2 million shillings.
She vowed to push on until Saturday where she will lead a caravan to Turkana and sent an appeal to local artists, fans, media personalities and Kenyans of good will to support her mission.
“We are complaining that we don’t have big cars, big houses and other secondary needs forgetting that our colleagues are dying because they don’t have water,” noted Akothee.

She appealed to all Kenyans to support the mission urging those with food staffs to follow her Facebook timeline @Akothee where she will be giving updates and direction.
Some players in the entertainment industry among them renowned comedian Eric Omondi, DJ More, Size 8, K24 TV Weekend News Anchor Betty Kyallo are among those supporting Akothee’s Mission.
On Tuesday, Kenyan media personalities launched a campaign dabbed ‘We CannotIgnore’ a hashtag that prompted the Deputy President William Ruto and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa to issue a press statement on the situation at Turkana and other affected counties.
They both denied that the situation was that bad, however DP Ruto said the government has set aside over 2 billion shillings to arrest the situation.
