A catholic priest was found dead in his car at Likoni, Mombasa.
Father Ernest Mutua who preached at the Infant Jesus Catholic Church at Mtwapa, Kilifi County was heading to the Likoni channel but parked his vehicle near Likoni police station and died.
He was found leaning his head back on the driver’s seat and that there were no any other passenger in the car.
Likoni Police Boss Benjamin Rotich said Mutua had no injuries and he might have suffered a heart attack.
“We have discovered that the priest aged 75 had history of high blood pressure and was also diabetic we highly suspect that was the cause,” noted Mr. Rotich.
However, he said investigations are underway and the body has been taken to the Pandya memorial morgue.
Mombasa archdiocese Archbishop Martin Kivuva confirmed the incident but revealed nothing about the cause of Mutua’s death.
