Majengo Chief’s son Kombo Mohammed Mwichande is under the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit-ATPU detention in Nairobi after he was linked to terrorism activities.
Kombo is son to Majengo location Chief in Mombasa Island Mohammed Mwichande.
According to the family, Kombo was arrested on Saturday at their Majengo home in Mombasa after the ATPU conducted a thorough such at their house.
The incident according to the family happened in broad daylight.
It is reported that Kombo was taken to Nairobi for interrogation.
Human rights lobby Muslims for Human Rights- MUHURI has scoffed at the ATPU urging it to present Kombo before the court and press charges against him.
MUHURI Rapid Response Officer Francis Auma termed the move as total violation of human rights and the constitution.
He said the family has suffered psychologically since Saturday as they fruitlessly search for their kin.
“After hard-pressing the security agencies, the ATPU opened up telling us Kombo was taken to Nairobi for further interrogation,” revealed Auma.
He questioned the police operations that are in contravention of the law.
“Why don’t you inform the family about the where about of their kin?” posed Auma.
