Kisauni youth have been urged to embrace sport activities instead of indulging in criminal activities.
Youth leaders appealed to the youthful generation in the affected Sub county to focus on developing their talents through sports and in the near future earn from them.
While addressing youth in Mishomoroni area within Kisauni, Mvita youth leader Mohammed Hussein famously known as Amadoh said Kisauni is well known for crime related incidences and the youth activist wants to change such perspective.
He said the dignity of Kisauni will be restored by youth themselves and not any other person or even the government agencies.
“What we experienced in early August this year where over 30 youth injured innocent locals in this area was very disappointing, do we want such scenario again?” posed Mr. Mohammed.
He called on continuous youth engagement in a bid to tame the rising criminal gangs in the area.
“I am extremely disenchanted when police kill the youth for engaging in crime, we have to take the lead role in rectifying the situation,” noted Mohammed.
He said by using sports youth will be mostly engaged thus deterring them from drugs and crime.
He however urged parents to take their responsibilities seriously and guide their children to the right path.
Amadoh appealed for concerted efforts in changing the dignity of Kisauni.
