Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir has dispelled fears over Covid-19 test.
He urged his constituents to get tested so that the health department can put urgent measures on how to manage the situation in the county.
Speaking after launching the second phase of Covid-19 mass testing in Old town area, Mombasa, Nassir urged locals to volunteer for the test so that they know their status.
“By knowing your status you will be in a position to observe precautionary measures so that you do not contract the disease,” noted Mr. Nassir.
He said the ongoing awareness campaign has yielded fruits.
“Comparing to the recent situation where locals rejected mass testing, they are now voluntarily getting tested,” he disclosed.
The MP appealed to locals to support the government efforts in taming Coronavirus spread in the county.
He stressed out on wearing masks, sanitizing and maintaining physical distance.
