According to detectives, Sahaila remained silent even after communicating to his husband in November and December last year.

Detectives further revealed that the family has also been in close contact with Mahir and despite having full knowledge about his terror links, they remained mum.

The two suspects were transferred to Nairobi DCI headquarters for interrogation.

Mahir, 25 sneaked into the country through Mandera and later boarded a bus to Nairobi and then headed to Kiambu County where he received instructions from Ali Salim Gichunge.

Mahir was instructed to detonate several bombs patched in his suicide vest and to arrive earlier at Dusit-D2 hotel and was under close communication with his colleagues before he blew himself up.

Meanwhile police have arrested other four suspects including three foreigners and are pursuing more in Lamu, Isiolo, Meru, Uasin Gishu, Garissa and other parts of the Kenya-Somali border.
