Parents should ensure their children are safe and always remain at home during this Covid-19 period.

Parents have been further tasked to ensure they engage their children in revising their books, ensure the children are involved in small home activities as well.

Samba Sports Youth Agenda Partnership Advisor Mohammed Ali Mwachausa said the ‘emergency’ holiday was as a result of the Coronavirus and children were sent home so that parents could take care of them.

“Leaving your children to loiter around during these ‘stay home stay safe’ time is highly risky and parents should be responsible,” noted Mwachausa.

The renowned youth mentor urged parents to create a clear program to be fully adhered to by their children without fail.

Idling

“By creating a clear program to be followed by your children at home, you are denying them idling time, however create time for them to rest,” noted Mr. Mwachausa.

He also asked parents to ensure they always share information with their children about Covid-19 and what is happening in the country.

He said by imparting the right and factual information to the children, children will understand why they are at home and not in school at this time.

“This removes the fear and anxiety among our children, it is critical for them to understand why they are at home and what Coronavirus is and it’s threat to the nation,” added Mr. Mwachausa.

He said children should be left to play right at their homes and parents closely monitoring them.

The youth mentor also expressed the need of children to be given religious nourishment by parents reading to them the holy books of Bible and Q’uran.

Mwachausa also asked parents to ensure they always check the well being and the health of the children at all times.
