John Maina Wang’ombe, a father who killed his two daughters on Thursday at Mishomoroni are in Mombasa has confessed that indeed he committed the heinous crime.
However, he did not take any plea as investigation officers led by Billy Onyango appealed for more time so that they complete investigations.
Maina who sobbed dearly before Shanzu court senior Principal Magistrate Diana Mochache said that he however committed the crime under the influence of alcohol.
Police said that Maina had a long day drinking at his house on Thursday before calling his two children Angel Wanja, 6 and Grace Wangui ,4 inside the house so that he give them mangoes but instead he hit them with a weighing machine before stabbing Wanja twice on the neck and killed the two minors instantly.
Police said that they needed more time so that the bodies undergo postmortem, and also to establish the motive behind the dreadful act.
The wife was not around during the incident and according to police she was at work.
Mochache ordered police to take Maina for mental examination before he can take a plea.
She gave police seven days to complete investigations before any charges could be leveled against the accused person.
The case will be mentioned on the 17th of this month.
