People using the Likoni ferry channel on daily basis have been urged to strictly follow the safety and health guidelines provided by health officials so that they prevent further spread of Coronavirus.
The ferry users have been further tasked to take personal responsibility in fighting the Covid-19.
Addressing locals at the Likoni ferry channel, Haki Africa Rapid Response Officer Mathias Hezron Shipetta said the organisation has been conducting public awareness campaign on Covid-19 at the busy channel to protect locals from contracting the disease.
He said the channel remain a point of concern to the government where high standards of hygiene should be fully observed.
He cautioned locals against ignoring the calls for social distancing.
“Wash your hand regularly with water and soap, sanitise your hands regularly and please stay at home,” he urged the public.

He said Haki Africa has been working with other stakeholders both at the national and county level to ensure fully adherence of the safety and health guidelines in a bid to combat Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr. Shipetta further appealed to locals to help each other in ensuring all fully observe health and safety rules to evert Covid-19 pandemic.
The human rights lobby is conducting an awareness campaign to locals at grassroots level in abid to impart the right information on Covid-19 pandemic to the public.
The organisation has also joined hands with the County government of Mombasa and other stakeholders in mobilising and distributing food and other basic commodities to the needy families in Mombasa.
