The grilling of Migori County governor Okoth Obado has been termed as a ray of home in the investigations over the murder of Sharon Otieno.
Women activists said that the family, friends and relatives were closely following the unfolding events surrounding the Rongo university student murder.
Obado arrived at the Nyanza regional police headquarters on Tuesday morning as well as Barack Oduor, a Nation journalist who is said to have jumped out of a moving car during the abduction incident.
Sharon’s body was found two days later after the abduction while Barrack who escaped was hospitalised at the Agha khan hospital, Nairobi.
The detectives sent to Migori and Homabay have interrogated 7 people including family members who implicated the governor.
Sharon’s body was found near Kodera forest last week Wednesday.
Sharon’s murder has elicited heated debate with human rights defenders, women political leaders and university students union calling for immediate police actions to reveal the killers.
