Kenyans who will be found outside from dusk to dawn will be put under isolation.

The government has warned of dire consequences to Kenyans who will ignore calls to remain at home.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said the move will instill discipline to Kenyans.

She noted that some Kenyans were freely interacting without any precautionary measures to prevent the disease.

“If we found you outside during the curfew hours we will assume you have contacted a Covid-19 positive person and we will put you under a forced quarantine,” said Dr. Mwangangi.

Costly affair

Kenyans subjected to the forced quarantine will pay their own cost.

She urged Kenyans to abide by the health and safety rules of washing hands regularly with clean water and soap, maintaining social distance and staying at home.

The government reported 8 more cases on Sunday raising the number of those affected by the disease to 270.

Mombasa featured prominently in the data with Nyali recording a total of 11 positive cases.

She appealed for cooperation between Kenyans and the government in taming the pandemic.
