Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has once again warned residents against flouting anti-coronavirus health regulations.
Joho said locals have completely forgotten the safety measures put in place by the Ministry of health and the county government health department in containing the virus.
The governor said it is very discouraging for locals to be well informed of the dangerous virus but choose to deliberately ignore the critical requirements.
According to Joho, by doing so locals are endangering their lives.
He appealed to residents to properly observe all health regulations in a bid to contain the virus spread.
“I am repeating this, you are not doing this for me but yourselves, kindly observe all health measures to avert further spread of the virus,” he said.
Mombasa is the second county countrywide that has recorded an increase in the coronavirus cases.
“I know you don’t want to hear this but I will never relent in telling you once and again coronavirus is still with us,” he said.
The Mombasa Governor lauded health officials for their immense efforts in taming the virus spread.
He appealed to locals to closely work with the health department in a bid to fight the virus.
Joho further urged locals to always adhere to the anti-covid-19 safety guidelines so that they protect themselves from the virus.
“Please if you are asked to wash your hands regularly, sanitise, wear face masks and keep physical distance abide,” he reiterated.
Joho’s remarks comes as the national government on Tuesday completely banned drinking alcohol in bars and orders people to only take away alcohol and drink at their homes.
