Mombasa County Government has banned home-based ICU facilities over the surge in covid-19 positive cases in the county.
In a statement signed by Mombasa county governor Ali Hassan Joho and County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo, the county said such facilities have acted as catalysts of the virus.
The Emergency Preparedness and Response Committee said the treatment of Covid-19 cases at home is completely prohibited.
All public gatherings and in-person meetings of whatever nature have also been suspended in the entire county. The county has also banned Ban on all live performances in hotels and dancing.
“A multi-agency committee is also to be formed in the sub-counties to inspect all bars and liquor premises with immediate effect,” read part of the statement.
Places of worship have been urged to follow Covid-19 guidelines as per interfaith regulations – 1/3 capacity.
The county has further urged working from home for employees except for critical services.
The statement stressed out full compliance to Covid-19 measures in all sectors including transport, hotels, bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets among others.
