A desperate family from Nairobi has appealed to the police and the public to help them locate their kin.
Jeff Omondi, 22 has been missing for two weeks.
Gilbert Oguro, the uncle said he last saw his nephew on August 10th when he boarded a bus in Nairobi to travel to Mombasa to meet his elder sister who had come for holiday from Seychelles where she works.
According to Oguro who is the family spokesperson, before boarding the Nairobi-Mombasa bound Modern Coast bus, his nephew communicated with his sister who was on holiday in Mombasa and asked her to pick him up on 11th morning at the Mombasa Mwembe tayari Modern Coast bus company offices.
“My sister went to the booking office but could not find him. She tried to call his number but it was not going through,” stated Oguro.
His sister later called her family members to inform them that she could not trace his brother Jeff Omondi.
The family members decided that Gilbert Oguro should travel to Mombasa and help search for the young man who was a second year student at Kenya Institute of Highways & Building Technology (KHIBIT) Nairobi.
Omondi is the last born son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Omondi who lives in Kasarani Nairobi.
The mysterious disappearance of Jeff was reported at Mombasa Central police, OB number 31/12/8/19.
According to Gilbert their search for the missing young man has yielded nothing.
“Since 10th after boarding the bus Gilbert phone remains switched off up to now,” stated his uncle Gilbert.
“We have visited all hospitals, mortuaries, police cells and prisons in Mombasa County but with no success,” said Gilbert.
