Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has said that he is not surprised by the Tuesday decision to offload him from the cabinet.
Kiunjuri who was addressing journalists in Nairobi said he expected his sack as a devoted employer is never appreciated.
Kiunjuri who together with his industrialisation counterpart Adan Mohammed were shown the door in President Uhuru Kenyatta mini cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday said he will serve Kenyans in a different way under different capacity.
“I am down but not out, I have been in politics for the longest period of my time since Former President Daniel Moi” s era to Mwai Kibaki and now President Uhuru Kenyatta so I am a happy Man,” noted Kiunjuri.
Recently the Agriculture CS has been seen close to Deputy President William Ruto and that may have triggered his axing.
When God closes one door, He opens another, I urge my supporters to remain calm, never cry for me because I have faced more challenges than this, I will rise again and this is now the beginning of a new journey,” he added.
Though some are judging the President’s move as a normal reshuffle, some have directly linked it to politics.
Kiunjuri however says he has a burden off his shoulders and has thanked the presidents for the sack.
In Early Tuesdays Uhuru’s cabinet reshuffle, Kiunjuri was the biggest casualty and was replaced by Trade Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya.
