Top Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong’o has rubbished Kenya Film Classification Board-KFCB CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua remarks that she disrespected Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala.
This is after Balala claimed that despite his efforts to meet Ms Nyong’o for a global role in the tourism sector, it proved futile.
According to Balala, Ms Nyong’o is unreachable a reason why he settled for UK top model and actress Naomi Campbell.
Balala said Campbell role in the Kenya tourism tourism sector cannot be underestimated.
He defended his choice saying Campbell has a greater potential in making Kenya a global tourism hub.
However, Balala received strong criticism from Kenyans who singled Lupita as the best choice for Kenyan tourism ambassador.
Kenyans expressed their dissatisfaction with Balala’s choice criticism that also caught the international actress.
Lupita mocked the tourism CS who claimed she was unreachable.
Lupita termed Balala sentiments that she has been unreachable despite being trailed for the last five years as baseless.
However, Mutua said Lupita’s remarks were disrespectful and should not have been directed to the Tourism CS.
“Lupita, as a Kenyan ought to have called Balala and discuss about the issue and not post such disrespectful message on her social media handles,” said Dr. Mutua.
