I’ll take care of the disabilities-Mvita Aspirant

Mvita Constituency Parliamentary Aspirant Said Mohammed Twaha has promised to closely work with the physically challenged within the Constituency in a bid to alleviate them from various challenges.

Twaha, who is vying for the seat on a Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) political Party ticket says people with disabilities in the constituency needs to be taken care of so that they fully explore their capabilities, talents and potentials.

Addressing locals during his political campaigns in Majengo, Mombasa County Twaha noted that the welfare of the physically challenged had been for long ignored, a thing that he is looking forward to tame when he is voted in, in the August, 9 general election.

The youthful politician disclosed that persons with disabilities have a huge responsibility as well to take care of their families and they need to be included in all development activities within the constituency.

According to Twaha, discriminating the physically challenged in the community have adverse effects in the entire societal growth.

“First step is to ensure they get quality education and be empowered so that they can fully utilise their potentials, thus contributing to economic growth,” he disclosed.

Earlier, Mr Twaha noted that he will work closely with the civil society and other stakeholders with an aim of having a reliable data of all the families who take care of persons with disability as well as the exact figures of the target group.

“Having these statistics will enable us plan well for their education, empowerment programs and start-ups so that they indulge in economic development projects,” he disclosed.


Meanwhile, the politician noted that plans are underway to have specific data of the orphans within the constituency.

Twaha says the orphans apart from suffering psychologically following the loss of their parents, they live in deplorable condition.

“These vulnerable children should be fully taken care of and together with other stakeholders, we will achieve all our plans for these groups,” he told the forum.

Community growth

The politician who has been conducting his campaigns with a specific agenda of uplifting the community living standards noted that his leadership will be an all-inclusive leadership.

He appealed to the locals to support his parliamentary bid so that they all reap from his efforts.

He assured the electorates that his leadership will be different since it will be geared towards achieving an economically stable community.

Further, Twaha urged Mvita residents to vote wisely during the August, 9 general election for them to directly benefit from a dedicated, hardworking and transparent leadership.
