Comedian Davis Mwabili famously known as Inspekta Mwala has been fined sh. 30,000 by a Kilifi court.
He may serve a one year jail term if he fail to raise the fine.
The comedian was in admittance that on the 26th, August this year, he killed a pedestrian Ismael Mangi along Kaloleni Mazeras road in Kilifi County.
Mwala pleaded guilty to the charges before Mariakani Senior resident magistrate C. Adalo on Thursday.
Mwabili who plays the role of an inspector in the Citizen TV program Inspekta Mwala program found himself in the wrong side of the law last month after killing the pedestrian.
“I am sorry and I want to reach out to the family so that I apologize, I did not cause the accident intentionally, I have never killed even a dog despite being a driver since 2007,” he told the court.
The court considered the mitigation and freed Mwala on a 30,000 shillings fine.
